A 22-year-old air hostess died in an accident on Link highway, Malad, on Friday and three of her colleagues sustained grave injuries.
The deceased, Bhagwati Chaitri, was driving a Honda Accord while returning from a tavern.
When she reached the traffic signal opposed Hypercity super market, an Indica coming from the opposite direction took a sudden revolve. Chaitri lost control of the vehicle and rammed into the Indica,said Maruti Telang, superior Police Inspector of Bangur Nagar police station.
The car also hit two auto-rickshaws before rotating turtle. Chaitri banged against the windscreen and suffered injury to her skull. As she wasn't wearing a seat belt, the air bags failed to reduce the impact of the crash, Telang added.
The wounded Varun Shetty (25), Yatish Shetty (26) and Jyoti Chand (24) have been admitted to Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital while driver of the Indica was admitting to Bhagwati Hospital.
The cops also said Yatish and Chaitri were to get married shortly.
